Executive Summary

In the high-demand garment processing and dry-cleaning industry, managing inventory and optimizing daily workflow has long been an operational challenge. Every garment moves through multiple processing stages under tight turnaround times, making accurate tracking essential.

For decades, businesses relied on manual tracking systems, physical logs, and fragmented information to handle hundreds of unique garments moving through multiple processing stages daily. These outdated methods frequently led to misplaced items, unidentifiable operational bottlenecks, and uncertainty about their workforce’s real productivity.

To bridge this gap, Extract sought to develop a single, comprehensive platform designed specifically for multi-tenant garment businesses. Partnering with Digicorp, Extract successfully engineered and launched Extract Operations (XO), an all-in-one SaaS designed to track every item from drop-off to pickup. By giving operators real-time visibility into inventory, workflows, and staff performance, XO helped eliminate operational blind spots and improve efficiency across the business.

The Problem: Operating Without Visibility

Before XO, garment processing facilities had limited visibility into their day-to-day
operations. Managers struggled to monitor inventory, identify workflow bottlenecks, and understand workforce performance in real time. Three key challenges stood in the way of operational efficiency:

  • Labor-Intensive Manual Tracking: Tracking garments from drop-off to pickup relied heavily on manual processes. Without real-time visibility, facilities were more vulnerable to misplaced items, processing delays, and human error.
  • Limited Workforce Insights: Traditional CRM and POS systems for commercial dry cleaners focused on transactions, not operations. Managers had no reliable way to measure employee productivity or understand how long tasks such as folding, alterations, or stain removal actually took.
  • Isolated Business Tools: Most businesses relied on multiple tools for point of sale, inventory, and reporting. These disconnected systems created data silos, making it difficult to gain a single, accurate view of operations.

Extract envisioned a unified ecosystem to replace this chaos. However, turning this vision into an enterprise-grade software solution required an agile technology partner capable of managing complex data processing and multi-tenant architectures. Extract partnered with Digicorp to lead the development

The Solution: Extract Operations (XO) Powered by Digicorp

Digicorp collaborated closely with Extract to architect, develop, and launch the XO platform. Over a development cycle of approximately five months, Digicorp delivered a highly scalable platform that replaced fragmented workflows with a single system of record for operations.

The primary Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of the software is its fully integrated, consolidated product ecosystem. Rather than managing separate tools, tenants gain a single, continuous pipeline stretching from baseline operations (XO) to advanced data forecasting (Extract Intelligence, or XI).

End-to-End Garment Tracking

Every garment is assigned a unique QR code or barcode that stays with it throughout its lifecycle, from entry to exit. Flexible “Single Scan” or “Dual Scan” protocols allow facilities to capture the level of operational detail that best fits their processes while maintaining complete traceability.

Real-Time Location & Workstation Hierarchy

The system maps out the complete operational blueprint of a tenant’s business. It organizes companies by locations (physical branches) and specific workstations (individual desks dedicated to processes like laundry, dry cleaning, alterations, or folding). Managers can check live workloads across stations to proactively redirect staff to clear developing bottlenecks.

Advanced Employee Performance Metrics

By registering staff onto the platform, XO tracks individual scan times and task duration. Business owners receive concrete metrics showing employee productivity percentages vs. non-productive downtime. This visibility empowers managers to identify top-performing workers and spot areas where further training is required.

Extract Operations solution-04

Dynamic, Rule-Based Automation

XO allows operators to generate custom, rule-based alerts directly tied to specific garments or workflow achievements. For example, automated notifications can trigger the moment a complex stain removal or folding process wraps up at a specific station, keeping teams aligned.

“XO provides our customers the operational visibility they never had before. Instead of relying on manual processes and assumptions, they now have real-time insights into inventory, workflows, and workforce productivity, helping them make faster, data-driven decisions every day. Partnering with Digicorp helped us turn our vision into a scalable SaaS platform that is now ready to support the next phase of innovation.”

The Bigger Shift

Before XO, running a garment processing facility meant managing on instinct. Owners could sense inefficiencies but lacked the data to pinpoint bottlenecks or accurately measure workforce performance.

Today, every garment is tracked throughout its journey, every workstation can be monitored in real time, and every employee’s productivity is backed by measurable data instead of assumptions.

By partnering with Extract, Digicorp transformed this vision into a scalable SaaS platform that gives garment processing businesses the operational intelligence they need to improve efficiency, optimize staffing, and make informed decisions with confidence.

Digicorp helped Extract turn a fragmented workflow into an enterprise-grade solution in just five months. We can do the same for you.
